# Redactions

> Hide sensitive information on a photo, manage existing redactions, and delete the unredacted original if required.

## Overview

Redactions cover parts of a photo so they cannot be seen by viewers. You can manage redactions over time and, if required, permanently delete the unredacted original.

## How to redact a photo

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the photo">
    Open the property and the photo.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open redact">
    Click **Edit**, then select **Redact**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the view">
    Choose **Real view** or **Editing view**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure the brush">
    Select **Paint** or **Erase**, and adjust brush size and color.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Apply redactions">
    Apply the redactions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Adjust if needed">
    Use **Undo**, **Redo**, or **Clear** if needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save**.
  </Step>

<Note>
  **Real view** shows the photo as viewers will see it. **Editing view** helps you see the areas of the photo covered by your redactions.

## How to remove redactions

    Open the property and the redacted photo.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Manage redactions">
    Click **Edit** and open **Manage redactions**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remove redactions">
    Click **Remove redactions**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Review the side-by-side comparison and confirm.
  </Step>

## How to delete the original unredacted photo

<Warning>
  **One-way action.**
  Once the original unredacted photo is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

  <Step title="Open the photo">
    Open the property and the redacted photo.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Manage redactions">
    Click **Edit** and open **Manage redactions**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Delete the original">
    Click **Delete original**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Review the side-by-side comparison and confirm.
  </Step>
